Visit of the Chief Justice of Pakistan to Attend the 19th Meeting of Chief Justices/ Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of SCO Member States

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa visited Uzbekistan on 21-25 May 2024 to represent Pakistan in the 19^th Meeting of the Chief Justices/ Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of the Member States of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Tashkent under the Chairmanship of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was also attended by Chief Justices and senior representatives of judiciary from Iran, India, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. On this occasion, the Chief Justice highlighted the role of SCO in producing an enabling environment for regional cooperation in the promotion of rule of law and judicial cooperation between member states.

The Chief Justice also held a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, Mr. Bakhtiyor Jahangirovich Islamov. Both sides appreciated the positive trajectory of bilateral relations which are deeply rooted in common culture, religion, and history.
