The Embassy of Pakistan holds a friendly football match with the University of World Economy and Diplomacy

A friendly football match was held between the Embassy of Pakistan in Tashkent and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy on 6 July 2026. The event was attended by Embassy staff, members of the faculty of the University, and students.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Maha Shafiq, Chargé d’Affaires, congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on their historic qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026. She particularly highlighted Pakistan’s globally acclaimed football manufacturing industry, noting that “Trionda”, the official match ball of FIFA World Cup 2026, has been proudly manufactured in Sialkot by Forward Sports, one of Pakistan’s renowned football manufacturing companies.

A video documentary was screened on Pakistan’s football manufacturing industry and the Forward Sports spotlighting Pakistan’s internationally recognized expertise in producing premium-quality footballs used in major international competitions across the globe.

A Pakistan-made “Trionda” football was presented by Ms. Maha Shafiq, Chargé d’Affaires, to Mr. Odil Yusupdjanov, First Vice Rector for Youth Affairs at UWED, as a symbol of friendship and goodwill between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
