Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the country, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has decided to reduce the inbound international air traveler for the period 5-20 May 2021. The salient points of the new policy are given below:
- Inbound air traffic will operate at 20% of total current quantum.
- No change is made to the existing Category “C” list of countries.
- Pakistani passport holders (stranded/short-term visa) in Category “C” countries will be allowed to travel to Pakistan. However, their travel will be subject to exemption granted by the
Committee of NCOC. - Air travelers would have to undergo negative RT—PCR Test before travel to Pakistan, which should not be more than 72 hours old.
- Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) will be undertaken at the airports; negative cases will undergo ten days of self-quarantine at home and positive cases will be shifted to self—paid
quarantine facilities for ten days. Second RT-PCR test for positive passengers will be conducted on 08th day of quarantine. - All inbound travelers will be required to register on Passtrack App.
- Following passengers shall be exempted from both RT-PCR testing and Passtrack App uploading requirement:
a. Children below l2 years.
b. Disabled passengers.
c. High-level international delegations.
d. Pakistani deportees
e. Crew shall only be exempted from PakPass Track App; however, RT-RT-PCR/Rapid Antigen Test shall be mandatory.
Accordingly, the Pakistani diaspora in Uzbekistan is requested the above mentioned points. It is also advised to undertake only essential travel to Pakistan at this stage.
