Machine Readable Passport

The Embassy of Pakistan, Tashkent is equipped with Machine Readable Passport (MRP) facility for Pakistani nationals in Uzbekistan. All Pakistani Nationals possessing valid or expired Pakistani passports can apply for MRP in the Embassy of Pakistan, Tashkent.

The Embassy processes passport related matters on Mondays and Wednesdays (except national/ local holidays) between 0900 – 1700 hrs.

Procedure for Application

Applicants are required to appear in person for application of MRP at the Embassy. Procedure for MRP application includes the following:

  1. Issuance of photograph bearing token after capturing of the photograph.
  2. Recording of fingerprints i.e. biometric
  3. Taking applicant’s data
  4. Checking of the record from database
  5. Transfer of data to the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, Islamabad for issuance of passport
Documents Required
  • Original valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or NICOP as well as their copies.
  • Original Passport and its copy
  • In case where name of a female applicant is changed after marriage, the applicant should have her NICOP/CNIC changed to the married name before applying for MRP.
  • For minors (less than 18 years):
    • Original Computerized Form ‘B’/ Child Registration Certificate (CRC)/ NICOP/ CNIC/ previous passport
    • Valid CNIC/ passport of parents
    • Accompanied by father and mother/legal guardian
  • Fresh passport for new borns
    • Original Computerized Form ‘B’/ Child Registration Certificate (CRC)/ NICOP/ CNIC
    • Original Valid CNIC/ passport of parents

Note: If there is a discrepancy between the information provided by the applicant and NADRA’s database, the applicant is first required to rectify the information in the NICOP i.e. with NADRA, before applying for MRP. Furthermore, the applicant will be required to produce documents like birth certificate, matriculation certificate, valid passport, or a valid visa to prove or justify the change noticed in data fetched from the NADRA warehouse.

In case of loss of Passport

Applications for issuance of new passport instead of lost passport are processed after verification of particulars by the passport issuing authority. Processing time of such passport is also subject to the receipt of the said verification.

Note: Issuance and delivery of MRP may get delayed due to unforeseen reasons and technical problems from the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports Headquarters, Islamabad.

Collection/Delivery of Passport
  • Applicants are advised to collect their passports in person from the Embassy of Pakistan. Please confirm availability of passport before coming to Embassy for collection. The applicants must bring along their previous original passport and the receipt/token.
  • If applicants are unable to come to the Embassy in person for collection of passports, they can collect their new passports through a designated individual. Following requirements are to be fulfilled before collection of passport(s) by the designated individual:
    • Previous original passport of the applicant
    • Signed authority letter from the applicant
    • Original CNIC or passport of the designated individual
    • Verification by the Embassy over phone from the applicant (the applicants are, therefore, kindly advised to give reachable contact numbers at the time of data submission)
