Pakistan & Uzbekistan Friendship Evening: Celebrating Shared Heritage

The Embassy of Pakistan, Tashkent organized Friendship Evening themed ‘Pakistan & Uzbekistan: celebrating the bond of shared heritage and aspirations’ on 21 August 2024 in collaboration with the SCO Public Diplomacy Centre of Uzbekistan.

The Evening encompassed the shared cultural, historical and lingual heritage of Pakistan and Uzbekistan. The event included music, poetry recitation and videos. On the occasion, Dr. Muhayya Abdurrahmanova (Sitara-i-Imtiaz) dilated upon the commonalities and differences between Urdu and Uzbek languages.

During the event, Ambassador of Pakistan to Uzbekistan, H.E. Ahmed Farooq, Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS), Dr. Gulchehra Rikhsiyeva and Director of the SCO Public Diplomacy Centre, H.E. Kubuljon Sabirov addressed the audience hailing the deep rooted and multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

 Friendship Evening was widely attended by academia, media and cultural representatives and resident Pakistani community.
