The Embassy of Pakistan in Tashkent, in collaboration with the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS), organized a Pakistani cultural musical event titled Bazm-e-Mausiqi at TSOUS. The event was widely attended which included students and faculty members, members of the diplomatic corps, journalists and members of Pakistani community.
In her welcome remarks, Professor Gulchera Rikhsieva, Rector of TSUOS, acknowledged the proactive role of the Embassy of Pakistan in advancing collaborative efforts with TSUOS and promoting academic and cultural exchanges. Ambassador Ahmed Farooq highlighted the historical, cultural and civilizational commonalities shared by Pakistan and Uzbekistan, and appreciated the contribution of TSUOS, under the leadership of Professor Gulchera, for furthering cultural cooperation between the two countries, particularly the promotion of Urdu language in Uzbekistan.
The cultural event featured a recitation of the poem ‘Mere Ustaad’ by the students of Urdu language at TSUOS, followed by a musical performance by the emerging musical group “Shaam-e-Mastana”. The ensemble presented songs in Urdu as well as regional languages of Pakistan, showcasing Pakistan’s rich musical, linguistic and cultural diversity.
The musical performance was highly appreciated and well-received by the audience who particularly enjoyed the resonance of the musical traditions and instruments. The event served as a reflection of the deep-rooted cultural affinities and growing people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, while underscoring the role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations.
