The Business Opportunities Conference (BOC)

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organized the Business Opportunities Conference (BOC) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 10 November 2025. The event brought together over 200 participants, including leading entrepreneurs, industrialists, and investors from Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

The Business Opportunities Conference was attended by H.E. Ambassador Ahmed Farooq, Mr. D. Vakhobov, Chairman, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Mr. Usman Shaukat, and President RCCI Mr. Shahraiz A. Malik, Chairman RIAA. The speakers at the event underscored the numerous opportunities for mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the two countries.

In his address, Ambassador Ahmed Farooq highlighted the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and economic ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and highlighted the vast potential for enhanced economic cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment, and regional connectivity. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering stronger economic linkages between the two business communities.

The Ambassador’s remarks were followed by briefings on business opportunities in Pakistan and Uzbekistan respectively, as well as technical presentations on investment prospects, tourism development, and the pharmaceutical industry of Pakistan.

Mr. Zaheer Abbas, Trade and Investment Counsellor at the Embassy of Pakistan, Tashkent, delivered a detailed presentation on investment opportunities in Pakistan, highlighting the country’s strategic location, diverse industrial base, and attractive investment incentives for foreign investors.

During the conference, six Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, including one between the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce & Industry and RCCI, aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and improving the ease of doing business. The event concluded with a memento distribution ceremony, group photographs, and B2B networking between Pakistani and Uzbek entrepreneurs.
