Virtual Tourism Forum between Pakistan and Uzbekistan

Pakistan and Uzbekistan held first Virtual Tourism Forum with the collaboration of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan and the Embassies of Pakistan and Uzbekistan in Tashkent and Islamabad respectively.

The Forum was attended by the National Coordinator of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Uzbekistan, H.E. Ahmed Farooq, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, H.E. Alisher Tukhtayev, leadership of the PTDC and the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan as well as by the leading tour operators from both sides.

The participants highlighted the enormous tourism potential of Pakistan and Uzbekistan for the citizens of each other. The sides also noted how shared religious, cultural and historical ties coupled with the regional proximity render them ideal for joint tourism packages. They explored the ways for collaboration between the tour operators of the two sides to harness this potential.
