As Uzbek medical institutes / universities are becoming an attractive destination for Pakistani students, following information / guidelines are provided for the benefit of prospective students and their parents:
Language of Instructions/Education: In Uzbekistan, mode of instruction is Russian or Uzbek. However, few universities provide interpreters for the lectures.
Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) List: Parents are advised to go through the fresh policy letters uploaded on PMC website. As per the latest policy letter of PMC, no university of Uzbekistan falls under the list of medical universities approved by PMC.
Fee Structure: Universities are offering different fee packages, ranging from $1500 to $2000 per semester. It is suggested that students should pay fee directly to the university accounts.
Accommodation: While studying at Uzbekistan, students may live anywhere in the city. Pakistani medical institutes’ contractors offer accommodation/ messing facilities which may be availed by the students.
Years of Education: Six (06) years education program is approved in Uzbek medical Institutes by the Government of Uzbekistan.
Visa: One year visa is issued to the students, which is renewable. Heavy fine is imposed in case of delayed visa extension process.
Registration: Every foreigner has to register himself with relevant authorities for residing in Uzbekistan. Delay in this process is subject to heavy fines or even repatriation.
Rules and Regulations: Law of the land must be respected. All students should get the briefings from the International Relation Department of their respective institutes upon arrival regarding dos and don’ts.
